The first two PELL albums were very good, but most I think the phase of ETERNAL PRISONER (1992) to The Masquerade Ball (2000), 6 albums with 5 stars! Very good but also the albums of Shadow Zone (2002) to INTO THE STORM (2014), 7 albums, each with 4.5 Stars! As I said, Axel's compositions I find simply outstanding.
As long as Ritchie Blackmore attracts as Minne-singers around the country, there can be no better than RAINBOW spare Axel Rudi Pell!
Getting the Chose with his old band STEELER, I still have the records from the 80s. The first 2 albums had a wonderful, naive charm, from the 3rd album BACK Srike it was professional. Peter Burtz roars the soul from the body, as if it was once again in 1984, just wonderful! Overall good performance!
After 3 of the best PELL-pieces ever succeed, Nasty Reputation, WARRIOR, FOOL FOOL. Are refined these numbers from the world-class singers Rob Rock and Jeff Scott Soto, who back then sung the albums. On drums sits Joerg Michael, very strong performance of all those involved!
Now follows the show's current PELL band with longtime class singer Johnny Gioeli. Are presented the usual suspects, STRONG AS A ROCK, MYSTICA, INTO THE STORM, ROCK THE NATION ...
Axel plays and solos excellent, the Stratocaster glows without end ... Bock Strong appearance!
Finally follows the guest block. It starts perhaps a bit chewy affair with the DRUM BATTLE, for many a. But I think you can world-class drummers like Bobby Rondinelli and Vinny Appice quiet times 10min. listen.
Now comes the PURPLE-Gassenhauer BLACK NIGHT, with Ronnie Atkins of the PRETTY MAIDS on the microphone. Fits amazingly well!
Then SYMPATHY (URIAH HEEP) and TUSH (ZZ TOP), presented by former Heep singer John Lawton (for me, for David Byron, the only true HEEP singer!).
The Uber Song MISTREADED may not be missing! On vocals this time Doogie White, he languishes through this song, and is a David Coverdale in every way! On Keyboard Tony Carey!
Time for the rainbow, Since You Been Gone and LONG LIVE ROCK'N'ROLL be sung by ex-RAINBOW singer Graham Bonnet! SINCE he copes properly, at LONG LIVE ROCK'N'ROLL course one wishes the blessed Ronnie James Dio back! CONCLUSION - A very good PELL live album is, the previous live albums (MADE IN GERMANY, KNIGHTS LIVE ON FIRE) second to none, and has many visitors a very special character!
