Basically, this is already electric meets indie but within the meaning of Hot Chip, Cut Copy, LCD & Co. Metronomy go one step further toward eclecticism and sound gimmicks. Be it looped samples shamisen (Japanese harp) or keyboard sounds that sound as if you play an ELO plate backwards. In the end, all the parts fit but always somehow in the song one - and the songs are really good! This distinguishes Metronomy for me of bands like Christal Castles Digitalism or who quite relevant tracks on their albums, but do not engage in real songwriting and can also create no tension especially on album length.
Who five years ago liked the album (unfortunately somewhat neglected) Zongamin should get his money's here in any case.
