He not only 'Slowhand' Clapton, Mark Knopfler and the large zillions of other guitarists influenced, but the possibility still managed to keep his private life private and not a 'public face' to be in all these years.
Cales always incredibly relaxed musical output was indeed significantly influenced by blues and Cajun, but it is not just blues and Cajun. Ultimately, it is in a league all its own. Anyway, I'll never get tired of this music. It calms my frayed nerves like a perfect blend of valerian and one or two glasses of good, dry red wine.
ANYWAY THE WIND BLOWS includes a whopping 50 (!!) title of his career between 1970 and 1994 and below it are very few who are so not my thing.
JJ Cale has 70 long been left behind, and I hope for him that he is a satisfied man after his long life. His music (even the ones he has produced since the publication of this double CD) are on any case quite strong evidence.
