First I have to say that I've been here for many years Hubert fan and so far everything (except Iwasig) was good of him. From Alpinkatzen time on his albums and Inexil GOMBE to TRAD. Four years after his last CD TRAD 2, the expectations were very high with me. I could not wait to hear something new from Hubert. When I heard the first time S`NIX, I did not know quite what to make of it. After several listens I'm pretty sure that I unfortunately can not make friends with this album myself. Here on the individual titles: SHOW TIME: A strange prelude, in which Hubert cries more and tried to rap, instead of singing. All ok, but not very appealing. Eyes out: Again a very strange song. The idea behind it is not bad (Football Comments from Heribert Meisel were integrated into a song.) The accordion deposits are also nice, but no longer. WELTUNTERGANG: A beautiful song and, unfortunately, the only one on this CD, which I like really good, although it copied parts of the song from the album Iawaramoi Omunduntn 1994. Disperse: A very modern song which I consider to be the most vulnerable to this CD. The strange noises in the background mess up the song completely. It is so inconsequential that I do not think of what to write about this. Die Liab: Take it easy, okay, but still like so much else on this CD: inconsequential. Skin and hair: Very rocky. Hubert speaks and screams more than he sings, but still reasonably ok. LIFE: Again very rocky. But the song will and will not put up with easily. It just does not fit to Hubert. Herschaun: A song with an oriental touch. Acceptable, but not more. WINNER: A quiet song with some electric guitars and drum-deposits. Not very spectacular. Siagst as: A (once again) very quiet song that finally is a little faster and at the Xavier Naidoo is involved. It sounds like many others on the CD. RAIN: A quiet song that unfortunately is so inconsequential again that you want to skip it most. HERMANN: A not only quiet, but even lame song with some trumpets and accordion inserts. A song so boring that you could almost fall asleep there. A song, which reflects the overall picture of this CD: irrelevance.
That was it. The new CD of Hubert von Goisern, which I had to wait all 4 long years. And I must say: I have been very disappointed. So to hear After 4 years of waiting an unimaginative CD by a very talented musician - The money I could spend afterwards for something else. But there is still the old, better CD's of Hubert, which I can set back in the beautiful, old Alpinkatzen time. Very very unfortunate, Hubert.
