To be fair, I must say that I have arrived at the end of Chapter 10 and have therefore not yet played the game, but I'm slow on playing of the game too much annoyed and discouraged it.
But what annoys me because so much of The Evil Within (TEW)?
1. The black bars have to suffice mentioned in other reviews and I can only agree with this also.
While some people sugarcoat the bars because of "Thus, it is atmospheric and there is a movie
closer ", I can only say: You take a big part of the screen and my field of vision is reduced.
If this is to be used only for the atmosphere, the programmers have in the menu a on / off function to install.
The there are, for example, for coarse grain, which was indeed built just as atmospheric element.
2. The camera is much too close to the figure it. They even occupied approximately 1/8 of the screen. Because you have to very
heavily used. A distance between the camera and figure as in Dead Space would have been perfectly OK.
3. Many people often write, the game would be so creepy and scary, you would feel fear doing. This I can not
confirm. There are built a couple of jumps Cares, but I've never had at TEW feel like the PT
Identify console, because I experienced that has so shocked. In TEW is only an over amount of blood and corpses
shown what is so oversubscribed that me more tired than shocked.
4. The fights are generally made too heavy. Although you can now bring the counter-argument that this case a
Survival horror game should be. To which I can only say generally yes, but the struggles are difficult because they only unfair
are. By that I mean that opponents take too much damage and that the ammunition shortage really short of
EXTENT Unfair is. This would be even ok when sneaking would work, which is also the beginning of the game
is shown as having to work. However, through the game again and again, almost in every chapter, the moment
you have to fend off an attack or must by shooting by a horde of monsters, because the game of the
one wants! As an example: I am all the time lurking in the level, have my ammunition on Max, I really good
have saved ... and then come to a sequence where I use up the complete Collected MUST to further
come ... that's just annoying, then one wonders why one should sneak.
4.1. The boss fights are per se a subject in itself, because every boss has usually an attack that kills you immediately, no matter how good
your life bar is filled ... This is also annoying because again what you did before, namely the well
Chapter play through, had no purpose, since it is immediately killed anyway. And so it therefore runs before the Boss
away, turns around and shoots a par times, and then continue to run again, etc., etc., which you then in the end how

Now I have fought my way through the last five chapters of TEW ... and I have to honestly say that nothing has improved in the area and it has continued to make dull and boring.

However, the greatest audacity that two bosses are repeatedly recycled in the game!
So I'll wiedermal persecuted by the black-haired, the allergic reaction to the fire.
But especially the butchers, I noticed the safe in the head (one has its own name?). Here is the fact reused after the first meeting two more times.
He also doubled in the final meeting, ie to fight simultaneously against 2 of these guys!
It would have been possibly be nice if the new meeting would have been against opponents still vary, so that every fight feels different. For example, is in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Nemesis indeed surfaced repeatedly, but he changed again and again: He has no weapon first, then a rocket launcher, then mutates his arm, etc ... this caused a constantly changing threat, which the struggle has changed STEST.

In TEW is completely missing this respect to the opponent, making the tribute did not really work.

And the end of the game itself is also nothing exciting, so my 2-star rating is more fixed.
TEW is in my view not a game, which to some extent comes to games like Dead Space or Resident Evil 4 zoom.
In my mind, unfortunately, this game is far too overrated and other beads as Alien insulation are worse rated than TEW what I can not understand. In this game, I really think that there is only so highly rated because it was made by the creators of Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
Unfortunately not the game where I thought that it will be.
