Here it's different: First, there are a whopping 23 songs that the Amos grabs here on the silver disc and these same 23 songs are harmonious, round, varied and on a really high level (for the mass of Songs). About "Yo George" was already written a lot, known as "Big Wheel" (supergeiler track, less radio friendly, but lyrically and musically World class!) Has been up and down reviewed. In Germany Tori published in advance as Promo "Bouncing off Clouds", more used to, but a great song. My favorite then comes with "Teenage Hustling". First scares you, but then everything is right: text, the guitars, the sound, the voice. Great rock song, which is marked by the line of text "I do not mind a dirty girl"! Rocking!
"Digital Ghost" is then again a wonderful round ballad with a great chorus, as we know and as we Tori many songs from "Scarlet's Walk" have come to know.
"Girl Disappearing" also fits into this corner, a high-class ballad on the same level as "Digital Ghost". "Secret Spell", however, goes back more rocking from, even here I find the interplay of music and lyrics perfectly! A really good catchy.
"Devils and Gods" is more of an Interlude and prepares for "Body and Soul". This track is certainly getting used to, but I have my time used, but now find it very strongly. But that's with Amos albums: It has longer what it and it is not right boring.
"Father's Son" is another ballad in the style of "Digital Ghost", also very well done, then the Amos grabs again drauf ne shovel and backed by "Roosterspur Bridge", "Beauty of Speed", "Almost Rosey", "Velvet Revolution "and" Dark Side of the Sun "in front of five songs in a row that can just convince. Last treated the issue of the Iraq war and criticized again the US policy. A rather gloomy song we have heard less often lately of Tori. Nevertheless heard "Dark Side of the Sun" to the absolute highlights of the album.
"Posse Bonus" is then a positive crazy Interlude with the lines of text, "This is your posse bonus cause I liiiiike you!". Great!
"Smokey Joe" is also used to, but is becoming a good track, though perhaps not the best of the album. You just have to give him some time. Finally there will be "Dragon", for me a not so successful end of the album, the song speaks to me not so on.
Conclusion: A complete factory with 23 tracks from 5 different ladies, all embodied by Tori Amos. Crazy But gorgeous! And what counts in the end is the quality of the songs and that are as good as for a long time no longer, especially very varied, which possibly "Scarlet's Walk" has a little lacking. A super plant!
