I even preferred when the TV series!

Once is not custom, I would say my favorite, by far, the TV series adapted from the novels of Viveca Stein, the novel!
I actually bought this first novel after finding Arte investigations of Thomas and Nora (adapted under the title "Bloody Sandhamn")

I find most hollow characters in the book, most agreed their relations and uneventful. I was disappointed, I preferred the relations of the TV series!
The detective story has it undergoes some changes to the TV series, but overall still faithful to the book. On that side, less disappointment. Viveca Stein, as his colleague Camilla Lackberg we "walk" good, bouncing rebound. The book reads well. Although I prefer the pen of Camilla.

And descriptions of the landscapes of the island of Sandhamn make us dream as much as the city of Fjällbacka!
