Due to spatial variation of my living room, the complete TV infrastructure had to be re-acquired. I got a raise HTPC before the decision or to find an alternative receiver can reproduce all the functions.
The Dream 500HD I've found all that and I can not understand the negative review in the reviews. These really compact box may be exactly what I hoped for from it and inspires me every day anew. Crashes I've never seen so far!

DBox2 shots the way you can view without any problems on the legend.
I will summarize again the decisive advantage for me the 500HD.
- All kinds of formats can be released via Windows from the network play (eg MKV with DTS 1080 or ddigital TON, now standard for HD movies from the network)
- Softcams can be extended for TV channels over the surface without install Linux knowledge
- DVD player! It can be DVDrips or ISO images easily play from the network as if you insert a DVD, incl. Menus. For Bluray is sure yet replenished via Plugin. The community developed continuously.
- Plugins, for example, weather plugin, Timersyncronisation for recordings via Internet TV magazines eg TVInfo.de
- Media accounts Cds, DVDs, BluRay player can save my TV landscape is made, Samsung 46 'LED TV, Dream 500HD, Sony Dolby Digital amplifier and lots of boxes ;-)
- Excellent HD picture quality in 1080 could be due to my Samsung.
- MP3 player, video, picture viewer from the entire network environment

- USB for exteren drives or memory would have been nice, but I miss not really in complete access to the home network, I put the USB device up to the PC.
In summary, I'm really excited about this little box. Friends who have put on a leading satellite receivers manufacturers from Germany, resent the much higher price and the chosen lower output of your receiver to a small demo of the 500HD. I would buy the box at any time again and also fully recommend.
