Have been long looking for a way been straightforward movies and pictures from mobile phones and tablets (both Android) to bring on my TV. Had the first Chrome Cast of Google and have these returned disappointed after two weeks. Now have the ZoomBox and am enthusiastic about. The functional scope is greater as the competition. It can be not only a connection via Wi-Fi network, but thanks Miracast also a direct connection. Grade connect through Miracast is great because no configuration effort is needed and can use it for example guests without problems. It is for just the app requires. Of the 5 I tested devices (Nexus 7, Huawei Ascend P7, Samsung S3, S4 and S5), only the Samsung S3 could not connect on Miracast because this does not support the function. In addition, a media player is integrated for the films featuring NAS can play. I have not yet been tested, as this can also my TV and I therefore do not need the function This function. Why now better than Chrome Cast? At least for me, the zoom box stable and de operator and device runs is easier. For this, the greater range of functions and it all comes at the same price. For 5 stars it is not enough because it is not clearly understandable specified by the manufacturer in the area of compatibility with Windows. It says so in the description
* For Miracast- / WiDi function: o Windows 7 + WiDi-enabled device o Windows 8 + WiDi-enabled device o Windows 8.1 o Android (TM) version from 4.2 up
With two I tested the new Windows 8.1 notebooks but I could not connect on Miracast. After searching the internet I found out then that it does not automatically starting with Windows 8.1 works, but also the built-in hardware must support. What with me unfortunately was not the case.
