Jamie Cullum is with "Catching Tales" his enormous musical potential demonstrated by several diverse musical genres can here converge with skillful jazz. This CD contains the main funky and rhythmic elements quite sentimental ballads such as 'I Only Have Eyes For You' - a great dreamy cover of the classic. The young pianist emphasizes all the songs with an expressive voice that will remain the listener in mind. Unlike on the previous album "Twentysomething" the titles are here, but three terrific cover versions (including 'Catch The Sun - Doves), even written by Cullum. Definitely an absolutely recommendable and smart album of an artist away from the everyday mainstream Gedudels ...- impressive!
