Over time, a few speakers have become my favorite speakers. Among them I count the Klipsch KMC3, the Yamaha PDX-B11 (both not really "handy") and the small Fugoo Sport. Therefore, I will refer hereinafter repeatedly on the Fugoo Sport.
Sound:
The Denon envaya mini provides in my opinion a similar beautiful sound as the Fugoo sport.
Treble and midrange are very clear yet. The bass seem at first hearing to be a bit thin, because it is not as inflated as in a Bose SoundLink mini or a JBL batch 2 comes along. However, he is also there and also has foundation. Not least, he plays quite differentiated, so that in individual songs really well can distinguish the bass drums and basslines.
However, this is only limited to the Denon mini envaya. The volume can be controlled separately when Denon mini envaya from the connected device. As long as the volume is turned up on the device near the Maximus, he sounds like well described. If the volume is low but, and I adjust the volume in the maximum range of my smartphone or my laptops and tablets, then sounds the Denon mini envaya no longer as clean and differentiated. The individual sounds seem more "sticking together", they are somehow no longer clearly separated from each other perceptible. He also sounds will also occasionally somewhat overdriven. Once I even mini place the volume on Denon envaya higher, the sound from the speaker is feeling better. I would describe it as if the volume control as a "Zoom lever" for the sound. Low volume corresponds to a low Zommstufe, in only a few details are visible. With increasing volume it seems easy to resolve higher and more details are visible.
When Fugoo sport behavior is so me not noticed. It sounds even at low volume Stronger on the device well and not overridden when the setter gets louder.
Battery life:
The Denon envaya mini is fully charged in almost exactly two hours. The maximum battery life at low volume, I would appreciate to about six hours. Since the Denon mini envaya but not as good sounds here, I usually run it at a higher volume, which he unfortunately by holding only about four hours.
The Fugoo sport holds here by considerably longer. Here I would like the battery life schäzten to about 15 hours.
Bluetooth:
I run my speakers almost only with cable connections. That's more power efficient and less susceptible to interference. However, I also always most short connecting with my devices. Often my Windows have to obtain 8.1 laptops little trouble finding a seamless connection with the Bluetooth speakers upright. So it was in this case. There have been repeated here to short dropouts. But I laste not to the speaker. This is certainly due to non-current Bluetooth drivers on my Windows. With my Android smartphones everything has worked out well.
I think it's from energy-saving ways and also of avoiding electrosmog not good, that Bluetooth does not turn off when an existing cable connection. This I noticed when I had started the Bluetooth feature on my phone by mistake and the Denon envaya mini intervened, I have previously connected by cable to a laptop. Immediately, the speaker associated with my phone and played music from thereof.
The Fugoo sport says every time when existing cable connection that Bluetooth is disabled.
Conclusion:
The Denon envaya mini has a beautiful sound at high volume set on the device. Occasional distortion at low volume level, a battery life of about three hours and a non-deactivatable Bluetooth function are for me but serious shortcomings, so I can not give more than three stars the Denon envaya mini. The sport has Fugoo all these disadvantages in a similarly good sound not so that I have the Denon mini envaya sent back and unfortunately can not guarantee buy recommendation for it. I have bought the sport Fugoo for 149 euros and would recommend it for that price.
