Nuc does everything it should. In conjunction with Linux Mint / Mate absolutely satisfactory for the home office.
Supplemented with:
Crucial M550 mSSD (128GB)
Crucial 2x4GB RAM (2x2GB would loose enough)
Mini DisplayPort-DisplayPort cable
Assembly of components is feasible for anyone who can use a screwdriver.
The above SSD can confidently recommend. The given read / write speeds will be achieved. And that. Without load of RAM as a cache as with Samsung SSDs
Wireless I do not need, since my router is right next to the desk.
The Ethernet port reaches the maximum speed (~ 120MB / s).
Subjective impressions:
Little Tots runs unnoticeable and invisible at the back of the monitor.
The system (linux) reacts instantaneously and immediately without pause for thought. Whether browsing, office or video.
4 videos simultaneously (2x .mkv from NAS, even Youtube 1080p, mkv 1x of the SSD) are not a problem.
The housing is in this case just lukewarm.
For the average user at home or as a clean office solution in the company of my absolute recommendation!
The i3 will do just fine and I think the extra cost for i5 can save you need.
