The old hard drive is well protected with this case. However, as already observes another reviewer correctly, it looks something out after too many vents. In operation, the air cooling is, however, probably very important. If the envelope more or even completely closed, the hard drive could overheat if possible.
Well thought out is, of course, that the hard drive with protective cover with the cap removed in the Sharkoon QuickPort fits. So I have it in operation.
For longer storage, but I would rather recommend a protective bag, for example iProtect Case for External Hard Disk
