OK, bad luck, Monday Model caught. So I sent it back and ordered again.
The second came from a completely different serial number range, so I had hope again ...
Unfortunately not recovered: This now had a front focus of the re-produced only committee at f 1.8. Otherwise, I could not detect any significant differences from the first copy.
Now I suppose for now distance of this lens. What Nikon here (partly) is offering to misaligned lenses frightening!
I can only recommend to anyone even to consider - I would have taken the first 35mm because of the small size & weight almost sight unseen is the only travel lens with you on holiday. That would have been a disappointment!
What I have noticed what I lack really sharp pictures but do not want to finally assess:
The 35mm is recommended due to its excellent light intensity like for available light shooting at dusk or indoors.
Unfortunately, there's no image stabilizer!
The surprisingly good stability of my 18-105mm zoom makes without overdoing three stops "Bet" and thus dwindling reserve of Verwackelungssicherheit the fixed focal length when shooting handheld in low light dramatically.
