But now the lens:
1. Packaging
Visually attractive cardboard box. The lens is well packed in a foil. Warranty card and instruction manual are included.
2. Processing
The haptics is excellent, no comparison for example to the EF 50mm (also from Canon). Here you get no plastic lens, but a quality generic metal case (I suspect aluminum). The bayonet is of course also kept in metal.
3. Handling
The lens can be a little stiff at first install, this should, however, have done after a couple of lens changing. I like very well that the focus ring for manual focus was designed relatively wide, so that manual focusing is much easier. I can make no speed advantage or disadvantage compared to the kit lens. This means that the EOS M is reached during focusing by the fixed focal length no records. I've had enough but so perfect.
The minimum focusing distance is 15cm good. The light intensity is very well suited for atmospheric indoor shots. For this I had always og EF 50 1.8 in use. However, the EF 22mm is clear to me rather due to the shorter focal length.
The lens is also ideal for video recording.
What I do not like so much, that the lens cap 6mm protrudes from the lens. I would have been a little retractable or thinner prefer. Here, however, applies as always in life, "you can not have everything."
For owners of the EOS M is a strong buy recommendation. I would clearly prefer the look of the kit lens.
