My name is Katniss Everdeen. I'm seventeen years old. I grew up in the twelve district. I participated in the Hunger Games. I fled. The Capitol hates me. Peeta was captured.
That's where we stayed were. Katniss was torn to the arena in which it was fighting for the second time and returned in District Thirteen. A breath of wind of revolt Panem and Katniss has no choice but to dress again the mocking Jay costume to lead the people to victory and overthrow the Capitol.
At first, I must admit I was a little scared. After being the instrument of the Capitol, I was worried that Katniss is now the instrument of the Rebels. But my doubts are quickly soared because once again, the strong character of the girl takes over. I would never have thought that someone might force Katniss Everdeen to do anything.
I mean to the rebels that I am alive. I am there in the eight district, where the Capitol has just bombed a hospital full of men, women and defenseless children. There are no survivors. I want to tell people that if you believe for one moment that the Capitol thick argnerait if we cease-fire, you make a terrible mistake. Because you know who they are and what they are capable. That is what they are capable. That is why we must fight!
Now I have finished the book in two days and I still feel quite upset by this last volume. After the first two volumes, I thought I understood that Suzanne Collins was ruthless but it shows us that human cruelty knows no limit. It must be said that the decor is different. If the first two volumes were taking us to caeur the Hunger Games arena and its terrible game rules, it is different here. Indeed, no arena, no game but a war without thank you where everything is allowed to eliminate his enemy: Torture, sacrifice, confrontation, explosion, stratagem low blow. This is an unprecedented media war that shakes with Panem as figure star: Katniss Everdeen, the girl from the fire. But there is no way for the girl to stay only the face of the rebellion. She wants to fight, defend what is dear to him, save Peeta and above all, she wants to kill President Snow. More than justice, Katniss demanded vengeance.
This volume is an opportunity for us to meet old characters and discover a little more. Gale, who has a much larger role, Finnick, Johanna and Beetee, former winners, Prim we saw grow. But who says the new district also said new characters. We discover the "President" of thirteen district commander and Boggs, among others. And I loved all the characters. In general, there has always annoys me but now Suzanne Collins even managed to make me appreciate Peeta. It exasperated me in the first two volumes, and there I found it funny and friendly - a real feat.
More than the characters, Suzanne Collins tries to show us a world at war. A real war where there is no mercy for the heroes, where Happy-End still have a bitter taste. Reading this novel was a real psychological torture. Very of accesses, once started, it is almost impossible to sit on: the end of each chapter makes us want to read more. Then, with this novel, I almost felt every feeling. Anger, anxiety, fatigue, pain, love. This is probably one of the hardest I have had readings. Yet some books also offer a setting of world war, but the realism of Suzanne Collins was overwhelming. It does not make us gift and shows us reality as it is. We observe with the eyes of Katniss, as with her, sometimes want to hide in a closet. If some novel gives me the balm to caeur, it is not the same for Hunger Games, which leaves me at the gates of despair, a sense of waste in the caeur and certainty of reading a novel lighter to evacuate all stress.
