When the batteries insert the sheath (insulation of the positive pole) of a battery, through the contact plate for the
Negative damaged in the microscope. There is still a small tab at which the cable is soldered to the pushbutton at this contact sheet. Exactly this tab comes after the point in contact where previously the insulation of the battery has been damaged by the contact plate and so cause a short circuit which has an enormous heat generation result.
I have noticed it by accident because I had the Mirkoskop after I had used it once put to the test in your pocket. (Fortunately)
This time I noticed that the sleeve and the upper part of the battery compartment had become heated.
Until I removed the cover of the battery compartment, the battery had become so hot that I could loosen and remove only by a targeted impact on the kitchen table, as it was to touch too hot.
I would not advise against buying this product, since the microscope from the basic principle is not bad and for my needs (assessment of blades / micrograph) produced enough good pictures here.
I would just point out that you should check the negative terminal before use and if necessary revised !!!
- Burring edges
- Lightly press the plate together so that the second battery is easier to insert
- The small tab where the cable is soldered possibly isolate with nail polish or glue
- Easy to bend the small flap down so that they can no longer come into contact with the battery casing
Otherwise I am satisfied for the price with a microscope except that as I said, our kitchen has almost set on fire ...
