For only purely technical production I would "The Immortals" loosely as the definitely best album of Umbra et Imago call!
Lyrically we are indeed as usual to 100% at the "typical Umbra Lyrics" - but musically "wummst" the proffered mixture of Gothic Rock and Gothic Metal unusually high and therefore professionally. And with the exception of the song "Sex Vampire" was a total of even the so typical "Umbra et Imago - Trash factor" quite significantly down ...
On the other hand, presents an almost epic-sounding "Viva vulva" [= the playing time in this case is more than 9.5 minutes] really hugely impressive and is also one of the best songs on the album ... Thematically could "Viva vulva" quite occur classics like "Gothic Erotic" and "Viva Lesbian" - in the footsteps of Umbra et Imago; but just musically modern and absolutely successful Gothic Rock / Metal robe! :-)
In short:
Who Umbra et Imago - like albums like "Mea Culpa" and "Memento Mori", can definitely access "The Immortals" at.
But also very sympathetic and successful self-references to even earlier albums such as "thoughts of a vampire" and "Mystica Sexualis" come on "The Immortals" certainly not too short. Nevertheless, the current output is a work that on the "amount of time" is on its way on the one hand the music perfectly - [! Most authentic] but also cheer the "old spirit" of the cult band from Karlsruhe and lets celebrate.
Definitely recommended! :-)
