The TV looks the way with his silver brushed aluminum frame very classy and is meticulously crafted. The rest of the panel is made of black plastic and bounded at the front as a wide margin the lower part of the aluminum frame. As far as the visual impression is very good. From my personal sense of color taupe ago the stem but does not fit perfectly with the rest. The display is matt and prevents annoying reflections. The remote control is designed in weight very easily and clearly. Where multiple keys are in a row, they are grouped together (with one exception) to each one in an elongated shape. These have separate pressure points. In the case of the series of numbers I would have liked the four integrated keys slightly wider.
Well, according to the constitution, it went to the installation of the TV. Mine is connected to a satellite cable. Here there is the option 1, 2 or select more than 2 satellites. Fortunately, you have to set up the TV once and therefore desperately even once on the quite difficult menu navigation. Subsequent tuning including sorting also proceeded very slowly. Another drawback: The unit will react somewhat cumbersome to commands by remote control. The reaction time is therefore in principle a few seconds, but I can get over good.
Refreshingly positive then came the first image in a brilliant clarity with balanced colors, excellent contrast and a very good motion sharpness over without tightening. I was and am thrilled. The image is still easily recognizable even when viewed obliquely. The 400 Hz Perfect Motion Rate actually pays off, especially in fast-moving images. And the sound can also be heard, despite the very small housing. Inevitably, the basses are somewhat weak. However, this is similar to the Dolby Surround system in the home network from again.
Another positive aspect worth mentioning is the low-power Energy efficiency class A.
The connection of my laptop via HDMI was easy. Playback of photos is a bit slow for my subjective perception, in terms of movies the result is satisfactory. Here, the setting or disconnectable movement smoothing has proved helpful. Not quite happy I was with the connection of an external hard drive (there are 3 USB ports, two of them go off to the side) for recording or pausing broadcasts. That the presence of an Internet connection is necessary for this purpose, little seems plausible. At least the integration was not difficult to WLAN and so I am also able to access the media libraries of television companies. But the best solution is not. Here my laptop is quite a bit faster and more effectively. Particularly annoying was found that Philips uses its own format for saving the recording. Recorded movies can be so only on this TV play or must be subjected to elaborate. Why here every manufacturer is cooking his own soup, is inexplicable to me, are but material for a long report in a scientific journal.
Mir Smart TV is now well-equipped, each TV. It's also about commerce. The operation is quite simple and some apps are even free. But I do not use this function on the TV.
Conclusion:
The Philips 32PFL5007K / 12 delivers once properly adjusted outstanding image quality and a good sound. The equipment is higher than the current standard. The energy efficiency class is optimal. Aside from the usual with TVs poor internet capability and the difficulties during initial setup, this TV is a gem, the result of brilliant presentation on the display lets you forget all the problems after switching.
