additionally helps:
- Ratchet for removing and tightening the screws
- Old newspaper as a support for the knee, because the are dirty
- Gloves, because tires are dirty
- Large screwdriver for the drain plug of the jack
- Chalk for marking the tires
- Wooden wedges, stones to secure the car against rolling
- Rubber pad (. Eg from the terracing) to protect the contact points on the car
- Flashlight (it gets dark early in the fall)
- Pulle beer because the tire change but takes longer than you think, with the unpacking and cleaning up takes the most time. In addition, this is a very nice and warm.
Along the bill was 76.85 and Amazon had even lured into the festive season with a 10 coupon, so were paying 66.85. Ie. After 3 tire changes the idea succeeds vs. financially. a workshop worthwhile. A wheel change I have now put behind me yesterday. Here is my experience:
High it!
The jack is a massive and heavy part and will take his place in the basement. This is certainly not everything fine mechanics, but it makes a high impression. We positioned the thing about at the right place and then pumped overlooking the fit of plates and receiving the car with the supplied lever. In a pinch, that would go well with a broomstick. The lever stroke could be longer, but i. Opp. To the dogfight with the usual scissors jacks and the resulting bloody knuckles that's a real pleasure and can be managed even by less powerful people. If nothing lifts, then the drain plug of the hydraulic is still open, which is located to the left of the seat for the "broomstick". With a larger screw driver or a coin you have to close the first. It then puts everything to the right support point the car (yes, his knees are dirty - an old newspaper helps) and when it is convenient, highly so. While the car is lifted, the jack rolls still minimal after - or shall we say: he shakes a few millimeters at the optimal point. No problem, but you should, of course, tightened the handbrake, in gear and the remaining tires have been secured against rolling (stone, wood lath o. Ä.) Because the car itself was of course no way to roll. I did not even incidentally, uses a backing for the support plate, so it went well, but I will look around times at the hardware store. There is as such for terrace such rubber pads that could help. One should still back up the car with a ram against emergencies for safety reasons, but I use times ahead as basic knowledge.
Put it down!
Here I was afraid, because some have reported that the discharge may be a crash quickly. Well, the drain plug, I also think an unfortunate solution, but with a large screwdriver (so you have more control than with a small) that is no problem at all. Discharge is very controlled and smooth possible. You just have to be careful and must not "just turn".
Would I buy again and recommend buying?
Clearly two "Yes!" But that part must survive at least 3 wheel change. The one knows but only after one year.
