I'm so in the soul hurt, I would recommend any other Blanton almost blind to all lovers of whiskey or whiskey, but: the Special Reserve for me compared to the Gold Edition, the Single Cask or Straight from the barrel, all quite excellent drops, a little colorless. Still a good Bourbon but clearly away from, to kindle in me the enthusiasm that cause the other three varieties in me. He's coming - oh wonder - the very priced a little cheaper "Buffalo Trace" bottling close (Buffalo Trace is the name of the distillery, which produces both brands). The is a really good Bourbon - but for me below the price / performance aspect is the better choice because both Bourbons taste not really significantly different in my eyes and Buffalo Trace is to have cheaper by 10 EUR again.
As I said, actually this is bleating at quite a high level. But my tip for those who want to try an even Blanton, are the three varieties mentioned above. And the whole secret tip and my favorite of the three would be the single cask, which actually has from bottle to bottle different alcohol contents and in nuances of different (but always heavenly) tastes, because he is just bottled exactly as he made the Fass runs ...
