I am in principle with this man more at war. So I had dismissed the last album as inconsequential and commented accordingly. Partly set to music quite rightly. Because the album trended very extreme for radio-friendly mainstream. Especially the increasingly perceptible electronic components meant that the songs did not sound authentic. For me, a lack of quality of music; and completely uninteresting.
The new album is recorded but very down to earth and fortunately mostly acoustic music in a positive sense. That applies absolutely my taste. Not always the Irish Folklore Dudelei, but overall I have to say: Respect!
Rea Garvey has come up consistently beautiful songs, so I fairly this bring here also with a corresponding evaluation expressed.
Some write that music is melancholic, others talk of exuberance or describe the music even as danceable (?) ... That perhaps does not quite. Although I'm now not on the songs, but they are generally written high-class and very well produced. Fine songs acoustically and musically supported partly on significantly more demanding level than previously.
I should not have expected after the last very streaky album Rea Garvey. A CD that you can certainly highly recommend it.
