And even more: for so long I have not been so excited about a good sound. Perhaps I have given up in the moment in which one decides only on listening to music via iPhone, via Spotify and via MP3. There is so much to discover. Opinion of the compromise.
For the second year slumber on my computer sound files in High Res (FLACs, 24bit, 192kHz). Eventually I let myself be guided by curiosity and bought a few albums, downloaded. Played on the local system via Media Player I have the potential is detected, not really excited me but the whole incomprehensibly.
Until now.
A few weeks ago I heard about this device - from Fiio X1. The two bigger brothers are known to me, but the price made sure that it stayed with the curiosity. This is the X1 but different: a High Res player for under a hundred euros? Okay ...
As I said the files were on my machine, would be played - the clicking "Buy" took place.
A few weeks ago I had also gained the Sennheiser Momentum In Ear. Not insanely expensive but wirklichgut, it seemed to me. But that's not the review of the listener - it's about the Fiio.
The came the following day.
Unwrapped - hmm, nice, plastic, but stable, small display - but sufficiently bright and the font is small and still legible. It was clear that the price must somehow come about. I can live just fine. Next step: Micro SD format and the high res files it copied, inserted the card into the slot on the player starts and voila ... off we went!
Then what happened, so I did not expect. Mich had beamed it off the planet. My eyes were getting bigger, I could not believe my ears: wonderfully clear highs, very finely outlined. Votes were represented very clean and corporeal - instruments clearly separated from each other, wonderful space. And the bass was deep and crisp, wonderfully springy.
Music direction? No matter. Classic - top, Jazz - top, pop - top.
Perhaps the combination of Fiio and Sennheiser is a real stroke of luck. The two harmonize perfectly incredible. Other earphones from Sennheiser, Sony, Koss and Bose sounded not so clean and round, so poignant and emotionally far. Anyway: for together not even 200 euros you can find out here what really good Hifi, respectively, high-end means.
And that can really hear each.
As a gateway drug, the player works beautifully. The price is unbelievable - a real bargain.
Operation can be the Fiio with the buttons on the side, the four buttons on the front and the scroll wheel. That's not always intuitive (especially not if you're used touchscreens) - but the processes going one after some time getting better by the hand. Definitely not a reason to opt out of the X1.
What else? The battery can be charged via USB and holds several hours - three hours continuous listening is not even one of the segments of the battery status indicator extinguished. Keeps thus certainly a longer flight times through and can be extended by a mobile battery storage on.
Unless. Had already mentioned - yet again: strong buy recommendation! Since you can not do nothing wrong! Superb sound for little money.
