The Ultimate Survival Knife is well made, solid and after a slight regrinding also very sharp. Who a knife Light Duty in the forest (Saw Carving, Wood / chop, etc.) addiction is well served with this knife. The concept of the knife with the extensive equipment has me even though I am not a designated "Bear Grylls fan", convinced. Whether this knife is suitable as a real survival knife, I can not judge because of lack of knowledge of these extreme situations. In fact, these are manufactured in China by a knife having appropriate quality of the price range, no more and no less. For the correct use in extreme there are certainly alternatives when you have to rely on a knife such as: TOPS Hawkes Hellion Survivor, Eickhorn KM2000 bw or similar ..
* UPDATE 08/12 I have now used the knife one month now and then for carving and even for digging up a plant. From the glass bead-blasted finish is almost nothing left. The knife is completely dull and can only with great difficulty (and certainly not with the integrated grindstone) grind something again, which of sharpen but no more talk may be here. From the broken saw teeth I will not even start ... My 15 year old, cheap folding knife is this "knife" vastly superior! My conclusion: as an exhibit too expensive to use bad !!
