The problem was another:
Since all had their XP machine with 512MB or 1GB SD RAM and felt like kings, came out as Vista, because the computer running Win98SE or even XP. Then Vista was installed and everything stopped and stood and nothing went.
Others bought themselves new laptop with Vista and 2GB or even 3GB RAM and nothing went ... fallacy: Vista had to be crap.
Ha, far from it, Vista needs nunmal 2.5GB RAM just to "be there", other programs accordingly more pronounced at least 4GB RAM has (had) a computer simply have to run Vista stable and liquid.
You could also read everywhere ...
If the own computers were too weak or were allowed to ill-advised and for expensive money bought a computer with less than 4GB of RAM in MM, the rest could still be as good, Vista would not run fast.
In short, not Vista was bad, but many PCs at the time and who with min. 4GB was traveling, could even work on an AMD 4200 fine. I have Vista driven from the outset with 4GB with three different processors up to the Phenom II 925 on my Gigabyte board and it ran the whole six years as a Tüt. Big compliment to this Gigabytes GA-M56S Board, ran with AMD and AMD 2 3 CPUs by 2012, although Year of 2006.
No complaints, no blue screens, no dropouts, even the multiple swap the processors, hard drives and graphics cards, it has always forgiven. Vista was great and Windows 7 is nothing more than a Vista with all service packs and bug fixes all, sounds funny, but is so :-)
And you know what: Windows 8 is under the hood still very much Vista and has only received a new user interface and a few more features (for missing the media center), as seen, for me, I have arrived at 8 and it's good find, actually all the same.
And if your Windows 7 or 8 is still better than Vista cursed and Vista, it is just simply that you have more RAM in the PC today :-)
Installed Win7 Win8 or on the computer on which previously was not running Vista and it will also not run, so I would like to posthumously, now that Vista is EH long dead, like once the cudgels for this and say: Vista, I thank you, there were 6 beautiful years and you have all the scolding once not deserve.
Do not be angry, if you feel stepped on the toes because of your (former) PCs and Vista problems, but it is real in 99% of cases only a lack of (min. 4GB) RAM been of you life with Vista screwed up.
Vista was - so funny that sounds - one of the best OS of MS and it lives largely continue in Win7 and Win8.
