Certainly appears not to work well with many people. I had it as well:
From my AVR HDMI-out in the Y-junction and then insert the plug into the LED TV and one in the projector. That definitely works not really. Too bad. Have it returned.
Conclusion: do not buy!
Who really wants to operate multiple devices somehow should buy the following:
HDMI Splitter: to split a Eingansgerät on several terminals, eg AVR / X-box / satellite receiver to TV + projector (1 to 2; there are 1 to 3)
or
HDMI Splitter To connect multiple input devices in a terminal, such as Playstation + X-Box + satellite receiver to TV (2,3,4 1)
