I already had the predecessor SoloHD and a Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear for comparison and I think I can be a good conclusion and an opinion, of course, reflect only my personal here.
I will divide my review into different categories.
Let's start with the packaging:
Packed as always, high quality and quite basic.
Included with the headset, pouch, manual, sticker, Talk cable and a carbine as a key ring or similar merchandise.
First impression of the box:
Very high quality, stable and elegant. No visible screws. The joint collapsible acts durable and high quality.
Another step forward in contrast to SoloHD.
He is also a bit bigger, I personally like it better. So he puts a piece closer to the studios.
He also fixed seat and strapping on the head or on your ears. But hear no problems even after prolonged.
The glossy surface is a magnet for fingerprints, but the headphones you sit so upside down and looks at him for hours not in hand :-). A micro-Faster Brillenputztuch provides a valuable service.
Sound:
Also a clear progress. Not as bass emphasized as its predecessor. The mids and highs come this time to develop. I'm not an expert but a simple HiFi music listeners :-).
The SoloHD I sent back because of too bass-heavy sounds.
This sound in the new Solo2 is suitable for all styles of music.
Overall I think is the target audience of the beats not just hear an operetta or not only.
I personally have not heard the Solo2 Hip Hop, House, Rock, Pop, Jazz and was satisfied.
Conclusion:
For all Beats skeptics of Solo2 really is worth a recommendation.
Well balanced, stylish design and great details make the Solo2 really great and successful.
Only the price deters.
There are certainly sound better on the market, of which I am aware.
Yet who is to design and Beats, finds a good set of headphones with a great round sound.
If you do not beat, just does not have any beats.
UPDATE 06/22/2014
After some use of Solo2 here now an updated conclusion:
The Solo2 is a clear improvement over the previous SoloHD and in all areas.
Be it the sound, comfort and value.
However, could the me Solo2 after initial enthusiasm not convince 100%.
Here are my reasons:
For a price of 199, I expect 100% fit, at least to my ears and my head.
This is, however, not given in Solo2.
After prolonged wearing the headphones occurred earache and an unpleasant feeling of pressure on the head with me.
This is because due to that the headphones very much tighter at the top sits than its predecessor and competitors.
Furthermore, it was me after extensive audition the sound unconvincing to 100%.
I'm not a professional hi-fi or work in this area.
Nevertheless, I would like for this exorbitant price for a "mobile pair of headphones" a very good sound and a great comfort.
This was not given to me after prolonged use.
I have now given but after extensive testing the Sennheiser Momentum On Ear preference.
The reasons for this: Great design (in black), great sound, much lighter than the Solo2 and of course the price.
UPDATE 29/09/14
After I first had the SoloHD, Solo2 and then the Sennheiser Momentum,
I am returned to Solo2.
The reasons were simple the design of the headphones, the easy transportability of the headphones in the pocket and the seat.
After I had initially criticized the feel, I have explained myself more closely with the settings.
My feeling is we must not adjust the headphones to "small", but rather too large.
The cushion sit still perfect on the ears, but the pressure from the upper part of the ear is taken and completely distributed on the cushion.
Thus, a prolonged music session is no obstacle. Only it is a bit hot on the ears, not only by the music :-)
Final Conclusion to Solo2:
Anyone looking for a really chic designer headphones, who wishes to use this short time on the bus, train, tram or on the road,
good attenuation of ambient noise and expects a "good" sound searches, can really access here.
Because no other headset has the 'lifestyle factor "as the beats.
Even longer makes music listening so fun. However, one should take the time and make different adjustments on the headphones to find the optimal fit. This I did not do the first purchase and was dissatisfied with the firm but, tight fit on the head.
After I did not come past the beats, and yet have detailed concerns me to the seat, I can now recommend for petrol normal listeners much this.
For as good or bad sound headphones, eventually everyone decides personally and not journals, tests or other "hi-fi experts."
