Installation of a SSD and Reusing the old hard drive in the notebook - with the adapter easily possible

A larger book project with more than 700 high-resolution images paralyzed my otherwise fast notebook. Processor and memory were bored, while the hard drive does not come to rest at work.
The vulnerability of my notebook was explored: the slow 5400 RPM hard drive from Western Digital with 640 GB of memory.

To replace a Samsung SSD 830 256GB was selected. She was ok in terms of price and performance.

The old hard disks have been removed and the new SSD placed at the site of the old hard drive as a faster SATA connector was available only here.
On the DVD drive, I can do without, because of backups in the amount of data more external hard drives and an external BlueRay burner used.
So a screw was loosened and pulled out the drive. For the ordered at Amazon HDD adapter was used in the previously the old hard drive was used. Since the hard drive is sitting a little shaky, still had a piece of foam rubber are used, the disk securely fixed without gluing the mounting frame (the bolt connections could not be used). For the refurbishment of the Windows 7 64 bit system I had scheduled with all the software for half a day. A rainy Sunday offered to do so. But already during the installation of Windows 7, I got a taste of the speed of an SSD. Installation was like a movie. There was hardly time to get something to drink from the kitchen to pick up.
Restarting Windows then showed that I was on the right track: The notebook launched rapidly. Installation of program packages as LibreOffice is also very fast.

The speed of the old hard drive has decreased noticeably not by the move to the slower SATA connector in the DVD slot - a difference is not noticeable.
The speed of the overall system, however, has by installing the SSD to the faster SATA connector (no 600 port, this would bring more speed in the Samsung SSD - to the notebook, however, is too old) increased enormously. Only start up and shutdown are incredibly fast.

The mounting frame and the SSD have given me a whole new feeling notebook for about 230 EUR.
The upgrade of the notebook of 4GB of memory (at low speed) to 8 GB (high speed), however, has hardly given the normal operation pulses. Only with the use of Linux virtual machines is the speed increase by the ability to map the guest operating system and 4GB of memory, but noticeably. The price of 60 EUR is today but adequate.

The mounting frame as well as the Samsung SSD have hoped in you performance gains provided - far more than expected.
The work now makes a lot of fun and is in spite of large amounts of data very quickly by hand.
