The control is very easy after a short period. With one hand to speed up by a small pin switch either forward or backward and with the other hand to operate a small steering wheel, which also moved a pen switch via a simple construction by rotation of the wheel through which the car left or right can drive.
The complete control system can be inverted via separate slide switch, where to me the meaning of this function is not yet realized. At first I thought it might be useful for left-handed - but it would have to not only invert the control, but also can replace, so you could control the steering instead of the right lever to the left - but unfortunately that's not possible.
The control performance completely wirelessly via infrared (as with most televisions and similar devices). This means that you should always keep visual contact with the vehicle. Otherwise, it may happen that signals only fragmented or not arrive at the vehicle - as it can happen in advance that the car does things that you did not intend, such as one second to go yet, although they had already let go of the lever etc.
Furthermore, you can drive the vehicle over one of four selectable frequencies that can be synchronized to adjust to each vehicle and remote control. So it is possible to have up to four of the speedsters simultaneously around whiz without that disturbing the vehicles with the control signals each other.
The motor that drives the car is, in my opinion, pretty strong and I was able to boot up with the car a few inclines.
Unfortunately, the car is only capable of a speed - but that is still okay.
The steering is a fairly simple magnetically controlled, as you can see it often in radio speedsters - that is, the car steers quite abruptly in the one direction or another - there is no way to meter the steering angle.
With this technique, the steering is unfortunately not particularly strong: In the state manages the car only slightly, the front wheels pursue the same when pressing the steering. The best thing is when the car is moving.
The fad of the steering gets especially noticeable on carpets difficult, because depending on the texture of the carpet of the car has problems to steer even at full speed. It works best on smooth, hard surfaces.
Objects lying on the ground can the little runabout already cause problems, because the front under the car is a pretty low an attached impact protection, which can not be removed - probably to the steering to protect the front wheels a little.
Everything about the kit is made of plastic in the usual high quality Lego. It indicates the model really nothing that makes a particularly fragile impression, except perhaps this impact protection already mentioned under the front car. But so far he has survived everything, although he quite often had violent contact with the wall and other objects (3 1/2 year old daughter at the wheel) has been dropped, or even from a low height (30cm) (1 1/2-year-old Sohnemann). Okay, after such a crash course, it is clear that parts jump and various Reparatuten must be done - but that one takes well into account if you want to let a remote control car around whiz from Lego bricks)
I'm surprised some of the endurance of the little ones. I run it with a set of 2,000 mAh battery cells and may thus for several hours undeterred whizzing through the area.
All in all a nice little runabout which, in my opinion, is money well worth.
