What could be more than to bring a product to market what promises remedy? No cable mess anymore, but a charging station for all !? The MyGrid Duracell now promises such a charging system for mobile phones.
The system of 2 components: On the one hand, there is the pallet which in theory can accommodate 4 different handsets with their A5 size. Secondly, a two-piece connector or for some models would be as a shell with built-in plug. To load the device is then simply placed after application of the shell or the plug on the plate. It means "Conductive Technology" by the electrical contacts on sleeve or clip creates an immediate connection with the current-carrying surface of the pad.
The load time is no different in which I tested Nokia E63 by a charge wired.
In principle, therefore, a great thing, if it were not for two serious disadvantages. The biggest drawback is the fact that you have to buy a separate adapter for each terminal. Extremely annoying is the attachment of the connector version, which is glued to the phone. So then, of course, fit no more cover, and look smart does it well.
Thus, the product is indeed in the right direction, but only a half step. Really makes sense it if would be offered instead of a plug or containment system the same special batteries, or closure shells, which replaced the original would.
It remains to be seen whether Duracell still adapting here. Although all new phones will be delivered due to the agreement of the manufacturers with unified micro-USB charging cable, a universal charging plate would be a great gadget for which I would pay a corresponding price gladly. So it's not really useful.
