Like Ruth Rendell, Elizabeth George was one of those Anglo-Saxon authors systematically which I bought new publications and that eventually disappoint me. "Just One Evil Act" had a promising beginning, however, the disappearance of the small Haddiyah but after loooooong this novel, I wanted to say "much ado about nothing" ... The plot is summarized in few lines is relatively good if not exceptional but is told of how surprisingly sluggish. I read the book with many interruptions but every time I gain it back I had the impression that the author took me for a fool and réexpliquait me far and wide. However, I am a lover of literature and the length of a work does not scare me, far from it, but here this length was not serving the literary quality and giving rather want to yawn with boredom at times. I often awarded five stars Elizabeth George, who produced some very interesting or exciting books, but this time, she left me on my hunger and did not even manage to raise my empathy for yet familiar characters. If you do not already know, you understand that "Evil Just One Act" is not the best way to approach it and if like me you loved what she had done before, I suggest you try Kate Morton or Katherine Webb, who produced much more exciting works where the pages without scrolling you think about it.
