Both symphonies are written on fast tempi majority with a fluidity and melodic inspiration flawless, combining orchestral science lightness; Oleg Caetani helvète with his orchestra is particularly in tune with this directory. His interpretation is marked by a greater velocity than other tempi quality prints such as Neville Mariner, beautiful but more civilized The Two Symphonies
Caetani avoids gallantry and salonnard side of these coins through all Latin passion especially in the scherzo of the second symphony that twirls a little while we get bored in the disc recorded by Welsh with his British orchestra Symphonies No. 1 & 2
The sounds evoke here a little anachronistically the London Haydn or Beethoven sometimes.
The sound here is very close and direct instruments and has much more relief than the already cited Marriner release or that of Michel Plasson and the orchestra of the Capitole de Toulouse Symphonies Nos 1 & 2
Note the first two movements of the third symphony in addition to the disk that is not found in the other versions.
A disc of choice so that is at the top of the musicography symphonies Gounod.
