I have read all previous written reviews on BE and now decided to now almost 50 hours of play to write even a review. In many reviews mentioned that the game would be immature. Although it really does not fully utilize its potential - what but certainly with add-on will be fully exploited - the respective subjective "lack" but was often justified not useful because the author, for example, a function / Info Missing and for not. existent explained, although he made only not found (z. For Civ series belonging games are just games that you now really have to thoroughly deal in the beginning. You just can not - like in a shooter - easy to get started and start from the assumption that everything runs by itself and is self-explanatory. It's just not a simple action game. To rate this game for the aforementioned reasons also bad, just is not fair. Also I have to mention a few points of criticism - but I will get later. Before, I would like to do away with some rash statements here ...

It is also reported that the game speed "Marathon" would not make sense because there just hundreds of rounds needed to be clicked away until something happens. Even that is not true, because you have to explore the planet in the early stages. The lower pace of play also contributes significantly to the atmosphere, because then every decision (research, construction) suddenly gets a relevance that does not exist in Quickplay. In quick game there are in practice hardly tactical decisions to research. As is sometimes just explored between X, just because it's done in two rounds. Or Y built, just because you can have it in the next round. In the game speed "Marathon" you do not do the course. It actually has a meaning for which research and development you decide what priority.

Likewise, the passivity of the AI ​​is criticized. Since I have only completely played a game, I can express this only partially. Have played on a card size under standard at the second highest level of difficulty and with the "Raging Aliens". The way to good locations for new cities have to freely fight laboriously located there. So even nix click away with hundreds of uneventful rounds ... The aliens are also more than just the barbarians from Civ 5. They differ significantly from these. They are finally not necessarily aggressive and also also much more.
The AI ​​has (a tile before my limit) established an outpost in the immediate vicinity of my capital. No sooner was the a city, I had the first declaration of war on the table. Some time after the war ended, the AI ​​has again collected a box before my limit Units. And again - war. Absolutely passive I do not find the AI ​​so. But it could be even more aggressive anyway, I think. Finally, I run like defensive wars ... at the latest as I approached the game, the AI ​​should have definitely try to stop me ... Mostly the Quest decisions was said to have a certain insignificance. But that's not true. So you can adjust each building within a certain framework closer to the own current requirement. In some cases, some people had in their criticism that the game is not mature, right. Trade is something too powerful - but it is in this form also an important means by which in fact makes the creation of other cities at a later date still make sense. The early spread is significantly delayed by the long production time of the colonists but especially by the aliens (at least when "Raging Aliens").

Another point is the spy. Personally, I would criticize the following points in this otherwise really good game:
There is no map editor.
There is no group to which I include Germany and with whom I could identify myself thus.
The AI ​​should be more aggressive towards the player and should also by all means try to stop the player before a victory - at the latest as soon as it has taken the final step to a Siegart.
There is no individual promotions for units.
The trade routes have every few rounds to be re-confirmed, instead of being able to set up permanently - but of course with the possibility to be able to assign them manually if necessary.
If you once condemned by a KI Group, located shall continue with the whole game.
The victory is only presented in a dreary window, although here now would have offered a really movies. That developers can do this, they have indeed made the intro to the test.

Despite these points I can give a buy recommendation without hesitation because not make the points mentioned in their sum the game to a bad game. The game is good and worth the money. You should let you in on the game and give him the chance that it really deserves. It has also cost you nothing, because you can try out the demo version and form your own opinion. Improvements are certainly still to come - as it was already the case in Civ 5.
