The new Hitman leaves me with mixed feelings but.
The graphics are top. Taking it on my PC to partially violent jerks and a stark drop outs in the third-last level when setting multiple Point kills came (graphics: Radeon HD 6850, RAM: 8GB, AMD Quad Core). On my small 13 inch Lenovo with Hybrid graphics (and correspondingly lower resolution) is running without any major problems.
Back to the game:
Some of Absolution is Hitman for what is for Splinter Cell Conviction. The basic games mechanics lost. They're both really just pseudo-stealth games. Where at the Absolution Schleich share has remained somewhat higher than in Conviction with its waves of enemies that you work through before we can proceed.
The story is not bad, the bad guys might even Tarantino at lunchtime; have been created). But that does not conceal that it is likely to deteriorate at the end of an action movie / game with lots of explosions and shootouts. No. 47 appears credible, human for a clone. He must put up with defeats and one sees him his hardships visually (dirty, in the rumpled suit), he is no longer the all-powerful "killing machine" as in the previous parts.
That there is no tactical planning, weapons selection and level maps more may be due to that no. 47 lacks any support by the Agency. As a deserter and revenge stuff you have to take what you can get. Be it stop also just an old revolver in the hotel level (he has the Silverballers exchanged information). The criticism that there are only a small, self-contained level, in which you can not go back, I think the effect understandable. For no. 47, there is no way back, only forward in order to achieve his goal. Certain liberties with the kind of kills are already given yet, it all depends on the level of (in town Hope you have in my opinion the most opportunities to do so).
Most annoying in the game is, of course, that one is instantly recognized on 50 meters, if you have the disguise of a particular group. The old system attention from the predecessors was sufficient. Or if you purely look only times in an unauthorized area, is virtually on the doorstep, is already recognized and the assessment goes down.
Well, however, are the interactions with the environment, comments from NPCs and discussions of NPC's to each other are partially also quite funny. The two madmen Kane & Lynch also made a guest appearance.
As a sequel seems certain, I hope that the developers reflect on the old values of the series and combine the technology of the new part with the feeling of the old parts and re-develop a decent and challenging stealth game.
