What fascinates me about the DM-re-issues, in particular, to "Speak and Spell" is a dynamically-bombastic, more transparent and doing phenomenal spatial sound in the SACD and DVD-stereo mode and interesting new worlds of sound in the SACD and DVD-Surround mode without the other productions often disturbing Effektüberfrachtung (leaving aside of "New Life", where it is a bit too much of a good thing).
As stereo purist I prefer however the SACD stereo playback. Win great as on the re-issue of "Speak and Spell" all songs by the remastering and the high-resolution SACD format to sound quality, even if the whole tends to be a bit much treble (but that it has always been). There is twice as much fun, to close their eyes and to remember his youth. And never the voices of Dave and Martin came to me so forcefully heard.
Particularly interesting is the short film included on the DVD about the background of the music production. Here plain language is spoken, glossed over nothing and nobody incensed. Class!
I am a versatile oriented listeners and possess or know of thousands of recordings by many performers. The re-issues from the Collectors Edition of Depeche Mode are in my opinion the best that the world has the ambitious high-end listener and music fan has to offer. Thank you very much and full compliment to the four boys from Basildon (Martin, Dave, Vince and Andy) and Alan Wilder (after "A Broken Frame" and before "Ultra" he coined the band's sound by his professionalism and experimentation instrumental).
