The gods are thirsty (Paperback)

Customer Review

While reading The two French Republics I thought back to Anatole France and "The Gods are thirsty."

Clemenceau said in 1891 that "The Revolution is a block"; Anatole France, responds with "Gods crave", 1912, that this was not the case.

There have 1789 enlightened Revolution, Democratic Freedom-loving, lights and reasons: Brotteaux character and quantity else in the book, because it is the majority.
And there was 1793, a Revolution fanatics, totalitarian sectarian crude, that of the Jacobins, future Marxist-Leninists, claiming to make people happy despite themselves: Character Evariste Gamelin, a reign of terror.

The black book of the French Revolution

Anatole France was a man of "1789"; With this book he denounced the barbarism and fanaticism to his own comrades. It was a magnificent premonition on expected by the twentieth century.
