The theme of the book is centered on medically assisted procreation. The medical field is not necessarily my favorite area but I will have guessed, just with the title of the book that would cover it. Still, it did not really cause any problems.
Apart from the long implementation of events in the first pages 50/100, I loved to follow the heroine, Katie. She is very independent since she lost her husband, John DeMaio, because of illness and appears since being traumatized by hospitals. Moreover, we see that it always seems too upset by this loss. 2 passages, when she spoke of their beautiful and brief life together before his death, I found it extremely moving, I had tears in my eyes!
By cons, although she likes to do everything alone, I found it a little odd that she does not talk about what she saw in the hospital and in addition, she takes it for a dream, especially after the body of the victim (she knew), is discovered.
Yet something strange is the first time I read MHC, we know the culprit early on, frankly it made me a little weird at first, then, get used to it. It's always nice to follow the thoughts of the assassin, it brings a little more to the story, including the reasons for his behavior, his past ...
Finally, the queen of suspense I still embedded in its investigation even though one can see that this novel is a little different from all those other writings.
