I am tempted to say that if you like the first you'll like this one, the colors and the sound atmospheres are always pretty trippy and space as in Oxygen 1 to 6, because it is the logical result 7 13, a lot of reminiscence of the original with a more modern twist, a few more techno beats but not too much, always with consummate arts of scenery and soundscape, the pace here is not really to dance, but to inspire us and make us dream of another world.
The first movement begins with a simple melody, down 4 rating a theme instantly understandable by all, the apparent simplicity is immediately carried by a ternary rhythm kidding which also reminds us of the famous hit Part 4.
The rotating tablecloths, distant ethereal choirs, musical sounds gentle, low hot then the melody of his dear old Mellotron, that's what I like about themselves jar, the evocation by shifting analog Sons who never look like real instruments and weave a fabric as magical atmospheres.
Part 8 looks like one of those instantly recognizable themes that only seems to him easily carried out, it was the pieces chosen by radios, gimmicks are perfect.
9 is oxygen in tranquility but several movements convent and several suprises times take us in a very inspired ballet, are near or model reminds us of the sweetness of Equinoxe 2 and 3
A sharper and relentless movement reminds us of the machines in Part 10, all bathed in a very analog atmosphere that ended on a nagging breath ... Oxygen!
Yet there are also a lot of exploration here and there, especially in the parts 11 and 12 that sails furiously on a sequence or sounds on the metamorphosis juggles more than any melody there yet has few recognizable loops malgrès follies sound and slip into a mad pursuit, listening to the end of the 12 sound layers and for these other incredible textures, and this kind of tell twist like a vortex on a completely recreates EMS, are cherished first synth.
The final piece, Oxygen 13 is more traditional with a sweet nostalgic An-theme supported by a simple rythm'box apaisemment for this ride.
Jarre is back on this album. An essential music of our time listening absolutely.
