Some people can not do anything with the music of Jean Michel Jarre. That's okay. Others love his music - like me. It started with me already with the sounds of Oxygene, which I heard as a kid with my parents. What came as crawled out of the speakers, sounded scary but somehow awesome. 1997, 21 years after his big hit of that time, he put a work on which should build on the success of the past - succeeded, I think. Of course you can accuse composers with something always lack of simplicity wealth. Said does not make sense at Jarre, witnesses all previous albums by the breadth of his creative powers. So what makes Oxygene 7-13? Firstly, there are new songs and new sounds that contrary gush us. But they are suitable for the "old Jarre" and the old Oxygene, said Klangbogen is wider than the old Oxygene, it now simply open more possibilities. And it is again the good old, which makes me so excited. As is the good Eminent 310E organ which send shivers chasing us at Oxygene 13 on the back. As is the ingenious creaking from the EMS VCS 3 synthesizer between Oxygene 12 and 13, because lets us beat the heart. And the Theremin chirps be merry game. All this was put together at a great album. Those who love the old Jarre sound that can also love this album, because it consists of the same concoctions that brought us the old classic.
