Just as the identical predecessor

I had an identical coffee machines AEG, Caffé Silenzio - five and a half years of faithful service (daily about 4 cups) without failures and repairs! This has influenced the decision for DeLonghi essential, it is now about 3 months in use. Unlike the AEG, the controls are in the DeLongi unfavorable (to the side) and make a less sophisticated look. Some criticisms there but that, however, the identical model of AEG partly already had.

Good is:
+ The coffee is hot and tastes. The taste is of course dependent primarily on the type of bean.
+ The coffee has a stable crema.
+ Removable brewing unit for easy cleaning.
+ The machine is relatively fast ready for a 2nd or following cup
+ The cover for the bean compartment of the AEG had recessed hinges, in which a bean "lost" was. This then had to be laboriously herausgepult so that the lid was closed again. On this nonsense has been dispensed with in the DeLonghi.
+ The price-performance ratio is right

Improvable is:
- Contrary to the AEG, the railing was saved to the hot plate. So far me no cup is still dropped by the vibration - I use the disk but also little
- To Flüstermaschinen they heard not (you also fittingly to the "Silenzio" omitted)
- AEG had a pivoting left beans specialist - that pivots at the DeLonghi on the right. For the right-handed filling the bean that is ergonomically less favorable.
- Both the removable pulp container and the drain tray underneath are such rugged design that is to be used for cleaning only a long-handled bristle brush.
- The function of the two-cup is equally bad as the AEG. The machine does audibly strained and still manages not right. A second time the single cup solves this problem as well.
- The use with espresso powder brings some cleaning effort of the filler hole with it. Here, the powder on the plastic wall clings to like - as well as possible by using non-antistatic materials and / or water vapor.

And yet: Ordered today - delivered tomorrow. Many thanks to Amazon!

All in all, I hope that the DeLonghi up equal faithful behaves like the old machine from AEG. At the quirks I had become accustomed in this - you can live with. However, if you regularly want to enjoy an espresso, which should all other fully automated already. Otherwise, this coffee machine is recommended and for the price a very good offer.
