So why I give 5 stars for this game? The statement follows on the heels here:
GRAPHICS -------- ---------
Well. The Evil Within is not a graphic Blender, as one might expect. Preliminary you have to say, however, that you could see a lot of screenshots before and so really should know what to expect. But to be more precise: The graphics are entirely appropriate. Well, some textures do not look particularly fragrant, but the most important things like the piles of corpses, pools of blood or so comic organic parts are very nicely done. In addition, the graphics are really implemented Atmospheric and beautiful.
The whole atmosphere fits the game. And to be honest, I see in a game is not a ground for several minutes to determine whether the texture is now a bit muddy or not, and I know also otherwise not making it. Finally, one would like to enjoy the game. In addition, more will be added very positive that the main character falls into a kind of madness. Say, the environment will change the color of her. Sometimes it is black / white times it acts as if you just come out of the disco, after drinking 6 liters of beer.
All this, combined with the sometimes bawdy camera settings, gives me a kind of "middle of it, not just a bystander."
---------- Positive in graphics
Implemented -Stimmungsvoll
-Partial Very psychedelic perception (also from a self)
-Very Nice shadow if you are traveling with the lamp
-Außenareale Beautifully prepared (for example, the forest in Chapter 2)
-Charactere Beautifully modeled (often very sick presentation)
--------- Negative in graphics
-Sometimes Muddy textures (subjectively)
(A bit difficult especially when fighting) camera often times too vague
-The Two black bars (personally I like that)
-Subjektiv. I think the bar well and give something than when you watching a movie
-Gelegentlich A little stuttering (so far very few)
------------- -------------------- GAMEPLAY
For this purpose, you can now tell much. Bad, good, or even useful. I have arranged me from the beginning well with the controller. Although I think that the camera control is something hakelig, but otherwise it is well done. That's all a bit matter of opinion.
From the gameplay ago there's not much to complain about. I do not understand the excitement; it was well known that it is almost a "Back to the Roots". You walk back and forth, there is little memory points and as always you suffer from chronic lack of ammunition. There is no menu, but you can find maps parts.
The gameplay is based on the games of the early 90s. If you do not know where you have to walk, then you have to look something up yourself. One guess at Morrowind. A quest, but no arrow showing you where you have to. At that time the game was highly praised as well as today. And now that supposed to be a "no-go"? So all this logic does not reveal me.
Since it was known that one receives no action shooter, this is all rather no reason to complain. After all, the gameplay is based heavily on Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 4. Especially in part four storage points were not exactly set frequently.
This means, of course, if you have not stored in a section of a long time ago, it can happen to you that you have to do this all over again after the death. But there is also a ray of hope: For example, in the chapter (SPOILER) where to meet for the first time to the lady with the many poor and have to run away, there is a checkpoint in between. If they caught you, you do not have to do the whole thing again.
The horror is not quite so, as expected, but that did Resi1 and Resi4 with me never. In this respect, I find it rather tense because horror. Because I really am but innately not jumpy and am more hardened, I think that people of a nervous disposition are likely to shudder here well.
The AI is not the best out there, but not too bad. And of zombies I expect anyway, that these take cover. Opponents do what they should. The chase and do. The boss battles are challenging and you often just comes so just escaped with his life, which I like personally. There are various ways to flatten an opponent. Either you use the environment (eg traps), or combined your weapons (eg jellyfish pin with current and then barreled).
All in all, I find that I the gameplay ago a Resident Evil 4 games. So here was much taken. While there are not improvements and innovations, but for this game, the gameplay is quite well done.
-------------- ----------------- SOUND
Well. Anyone who has a 5.1 system will get a very good soundscape. Only then the terror and horror work properly. When you're in a basement type, drips everywhere from the walls and blood behind you then you hear it drip, always this "splash, splash," then one can already be different.
The music and sounds (especially the effect sounds) are very well done and the mixture is well implemented. I think the voice actors well chosen. Sometimes the emphasis is next to some, but to the German version is well done.
More I can not say the sound. He's just very good.
------------- ------------- STORY
The story is not to much to anticipate, confusing and you do not come right behind it, what this is all about. Ruvik what to do with it and why in the world will collapse the city? Gradually, you come out and the little patient with mental disorder who knows something.
This one gets the story thrown only with appetizers, one would like to know how it goes. And the full text documents and audio recordings contribute much to the story. You can read or listen to what is done for sickening experiments.
The story is not the best thing you have seen in a while. But I find it very exciting rübergebracht. I can move well into the character, just like a good book. Therefore, I like this tangled story. But as I said, I would like to reveal anything or spoilers.
------------- -------------- CONCLUSION
There was already a lot of reports on and really I can not say more than, you either love it or you hate it. When I think of Resident Evil 1, I did as it came out played on the Playstation 1 and the PC. But until last year I played it in the remastered version of the WII. Why? Because I play for a long time this kind disliked. I found them too heavy and ever ...
But after I've given me a jolt, I Resi1 played out. Without Cheats. Because that is what the player has better today: Auto regeneration, a thick arrow shows where the next goal is, ammunition in abundance, not indeed have to think it. And where do we get there, if you are not allowed to save any time? Those who still play the first Sonic or Jump'n Runs thinks because you had partially the whole game in one piece through play (eg Starwing on the SNES).
Although we live in 2014, but a game may already be crisp and a Request. I want to be happy if I am a chapter further or again find 2 shot buckshot. Here makes The Evil Within as I find it right. It feels like when you play the old RESI parts. Of course the game is not the new reference of survival horror games. But it's a title you can win much.
Above all, the violence is almost not to believe already significant and for German land that has been released uncut. Splatter its best with a confusing story around the brain. What indeed the name already announced.
Basically, one can say, who can not be swayed by a little hakeligen camera control and of some small shortcomings, receives here a very good game.
-------- Positive
-Nice Level design
-Great Shadows and lighting effects
Fits the -Splatter to the partial disgusting environment
-Herausfordernd - Not just quickly playthrough game
-Story Beautiful psychedelic with Nachdenkfaktor
-Gruselige Soundscape - especially in dolby surround
-Hauptchracter Partly very oblique (Quote: "... substanziel for my ass!")
-Krankenschwester Is great (with frequent Save: "But they are overly cautious ....)
-Very Beautiful and disgusting opponent, sometimes truly grotesque
-Bosskämpfe Crisp but not unfair
-------- Negative
-Partial Muddy textures (but rarely)
-hin and again a little jerking (relatively rare)
-Ladezeiten Little longer
-Kamerasteuerung Something hakelig
-Sometimes Somewhat confusing viewpoint
Who wanted here a new reference title is wrong here. But who is looking in good match with bonds to the old Resiteile, will be here certainly have a good time. Not everything is perfect, but still reacted very nicely. There are here and there a few odd design decisions; why the hell you have to get up to open a door, rather than in a squatting position? But that does not, when you're fighting for survival. Sometimes you have no idea what to do now. Running away or fighting? I would advise to the former.
From me there is a recommendation to buy, because it brings the good old 90s again beautifully into the living room. And this time not cut as in Resident Evil1 but uncut.
If I have forgotten something, or should there be a few questions, let me know in the comment section.
