The pot is made of stainless steel, which is very positive. The appliance door are generous and positioned on two sides of the pot with a well labeled Scala. Unfortunately, the Scala is only printed and not "thermally imprinted" so that with a worn to the point of illegibility (own experience) is to be expected. The lid and the handle and the base are made of solid plastic. The buttons are easy to operate and provided with symbols. For professional tea -Kaffeetrinker temperature information would of course be better than symbols. Excess cable can be well wrapped in the base.
A short circuit in the kitchen caused by this pitcher, we had only found that the electronics of the pot is not housed in the stand base, as in professional equipment, but almost unprotected under the pot even in a plastic case. This structure has nothing to do with professionalism. The jug was found unconscious in part to a lying in the kitchen damp sponge cloth which is used to wipe liquids. By load the full can some of the water out of the sponge cloth is pressed into the lower region of the pot and there into the unprotected electronics. After placing the pot on the base to boil water and after turning on the error breakers flew across the kitchen out. It was getting dark. After closer inspection we discovered that the electronics are mounted not only almost unprotected under the kettle, but after the drying process and further operating the electronics are also having heated. Everyone knows that electronic components are exposed to heat consumed / destroyed much faster than well-cooled, which significantly shortens the life of the kettle. Competing products (Gastroback, Beem) that we use in the company, the electronics have protected the lower level socket housed and provided not in one, with ventilation slots, assembled plastic housing on the hot steel pot itself. In the kitchen you have to always rely on moisture and spills. However, this circumstance carries the can by no means account. It was built a lot of plastic, which can also appear cheap the pot. Further, a plastic-metal-wire element is installed in the lower region of the can inside, which is either replaceable or cleanable. This element makes a thorough cleaning of the pot with a bottle brush or a dishcloth impossible. The catering ladies in our company are very disappointed by this product in conjunction with the brand name Philips. The price is definitely not justified and much too high. The fact that a kettle is economical and very efficient, is beyond question, but the quality, durability, application security must (!) Votes, easy cleaning and durability of the product.
Competitors have 5-year warranty, Philips just 2 years.
