Sailing according to his investigations a little confused, the main character we walk in Los Angeles a little outdated, among high-end antique sellers and gangstas but not too fierce.
The set is a little disjointed and plot (some easy and trotted out a thousand times) somewhat consistent. Little thick in the main character, which is a little bland and ultimately offers little rough, little humanity and that looks like a "mix" of hero robots portraits. This does not facilitate the first-person narrative, the process of empathy and identification is regaining upset.
The set is correctly written, and is read without displeasure, although it was a bit like reading a thriller already "has been" and far from the reality of LA described daily with talent by the authors (Ellroy, Connelly, Bunker ...) but also by the series (The Shield, Southland ...), which sometimes go a bit surreal scenes (a white cop who share apprehend a suspect in the Westside without reinforcements and night? ??).
A largely dispensable novel so ...
