Kullervo is not an early draft of the upcoming symphonies, this is an original and powerful creation, alternating times and symphonic choirs and vocal scenes that evoke youth, then the fault (incest), and finally in the final suicide the hero. Osmo Vänskä and the Lahti orchestra has a very interesting design of this music, which is quite thoughtful and imposing as lively and spontaneous (for a rougher and toned vision, we must look more toward Paavo Berglund). The second movement, for example, is played very slowly, which allows you to hear every detail to perfection: it's extreme, but very beautiful. The choir shines especially in the final, the effect is striking here. Taking its superlative smoothness, but that requires listening in good conditions.
