In star Diana Krall recently flirted with the admission that she was not a very good singer. This paradox, of course, one attracts the attention for the newest album Wallflower on which it comes into appearance almost exclusively as a singer. And also this is a contradiction: only three pieces of a total of 12 recordings she reaches into their own keys. The piano playing takes mainly the producer and keyboardist David Forster, who also wrote all the arrangements. So what is original Krall on this album? A voice which, although lacking in bandwidth as they can know the Star Reader which is distinctive but because of its warm timbre and perfect for Kuschelpop at least a high level. Original also their ambitions, pop gems to be polished on days gone. So the new album contains nothing but earwigs, which however primarily the generation of early-born are likely to be familiar. Nice to hear the songs, however, even without knowledge of the original versions. The range of titles ranging from the hippie anthem of California Dreamin The Mamas & The Papas on Desperado by Eagles, Im Not In Love 10cc up to the more contemporary pieces Dont Dream ISTS Over Crowded House. More titles come from Paul McCartney, Elton John, Gilbert O'Sullivan and Randy Newman. The eponymous song Wallflower goes to the account of Bob Dylan and first appeared in the legendary bootleg series of the old master.
