"This title is like a message that we are on a journey in this life, where we stop for a moment at different places, learn new things, make things behind us, suffer, love, cry and fail ... life is short it's a series of moments that add up. " Juanes said in an interview.
The music is a successful blend of rock with the Latin side of Juanes. He combines very Colombian rhythms such as Vallenato, Guasca and Cumbia with rock, which he sees as part of folk culture. This is what also characterizes "Me Enamora", a song that is typical of the rest of the CD, typical of the Colombians who is also very engaged in his country with problems of landmines.
In the song "Minas Piedras" (Mine Stones), which he sings with the Argentine Andrés Calamaro, he talks about rocks, turning into mines. Juanes wants to make the problem de antipersonnel mines in Colombia visible. This ballad has a particularly lovely melody and a very heartwarming text.
A further song with a social background is "Bandera de Manos" (Flag of Hands), a duet with German singer Campino, the frontman of the rock band "Die Toten Hosen". In this song, where Juanes also sings a few lines in German, it is about a banner that is created by native hands, jointly by colored and white. The idea is that music unites people that music can make a difference.
All in all it is a very personal album, which has begun to write Juanes when he was in the last few years on tour. It reports on personal experiences, different emotional states and is based on personal experience as well as on around stories of people around him.
With this CD, "La Vida ... Es un Ratico" the Colombians will certainly again have great success, his previous CD "Mi Sangre" sold more than 4 million times, his tour lasted 19 months and led by 31 countries more than 170 concerts.
