Lack of content

Big disappointment from reading this book. Writing is pleasant but lacks a real plot, a real content or a more detailed analysis of the characters.
Instead, there is nothing. No this is not a detective story, and in any short novel is disappointing.
Difficult to understand the character of Thomas, difficult to understand his refusal of a woman. He did not really react to the fact that her mother gets back with the doctor. He thinks about his father, but he never rubbed and received affection of the latter in his childhood. Good in the end, we do not really understand all reactions of this character until his final act.
I recommend reading.
