The surface in the area around the mouse pad is a solid, black leather, which looks very classy and feels so. In short: No defects - high quality!
There is a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI port for an external monitor. Also located on the right side a slot for an SD card, which previously could read all my SD card (SD-HC, SD-XC, SD XC I Ultra High Speed)! In addition, there is an audio output for standard headphones (3.5mm).
The hardware:

If you fold the yoga now for Tablet to (or tent / stand mode), the full keyboard + mouse pad is disabled. This has particularly pleased me because it comes from and in tablet mode to keys or the mouse pad. In general, I had the fact that the keyboard is thus remains face downwards, presented a lot worse than it is now actually.
It is now in tablet mode, an onscreen keyboard will appear automatically that has many settings and in simple, yet appealing to my taste and modern style Windows 8 is designed.

In my opinion, some of these apps are very stripped down and reduced to their main functions, mainly the people will bother some who would like to adjust everything to the smallest detail and ask for maximum compatibility. So the photos, music, and video app are reduced to a few functions. But: It works and you can do what the apps are there.
For everything else, you have to install common programs, which is just like in Windows 7. So far I have all the software running on my Windows 7 (which is a lot), can also install on Windowas 8.
So now it is at its traditional programs, one is housed in the old, well-known desktop. This is in Windowas 8 yes its own app that you can always reach through "Windows + D". In addition, the desktop is opened when you invoke a shortcut from the Metro Start screen, which leads to a nomalen program. On the desktop, you can use the touchscreen wonderful what pleasantly surprised me. Move desktop icons, move Fester, open menus, scroll: No problem! Also the use of all the programs is possible via touch. The Google Chrome browser is it very suitable, because there most touch gestures work on any website how they expect from smartphones and mobile browsers.
The touch screen is awesome implemented, mainly just because of the surprisingly high compatibility with software that was not programmed for touch.
The sound system:
Much I can not say because I do not have the knowledge, but I try to describe it: If you compare the full volume, I get a sound quality is not outstanding, but definitely not bad. In short: If you want to make home cinema so well in order to listen to loud music own it will not be satisfied, not. But to enjoy such as series, live TV or video, it is sufficient in any case! The sound system is the only area of the Ultrabooks, in which you may not have very high expectations. (Maybe it is me but even so ago since I usually use a 5.1 surround system)
Graphics card and CPU power:

Who uses yoga in a silent environment, sometimes extremely frequent and slight sound is perceived. That this also does not pass so quickly, it can be very disturbing.
We are dealing with the so-called "Coil Whine", a matter that has to do with the graphics card. Who cares this Geäusch, can actually put things right!
