Most of what is contained in these three CDs, you know (more or less) of the single-CD "Orchestral Favorites", "Sleep Dirt", "Studio Tan" and "Zappa in New York". T. there are such significant other versions than the already known: However, the songs are not always identical.. Zappa wanted this work already published in the seventies as a set of four and was vetoed by his narrow-minded record company. Now all this has finally arrived and you can see that the Maestro has always worked simultaneously in all the idioms (jazz, rock and concert Antes) and not changed from plate to plate. A very worthwhile purchase: the music is fantastic from start to finish - sometimes rock, sometimes bitchy, sometimes crazy and very often very jazzy, quite well in free jazz protrudable areas. Absolute Hörempehlung! What bothers, but the nitty packaging: one has the CDs draw inward from the narrow cardboard cover, which has resulted in me already at the very beginning to tear the same (!). And another joke by the way: there is now a book about plates that you get probably never heard (or something like that is the title) - because "Laether" is presented as Zappa never published masterpiece ... the author would have got better simply clicked on Amazon to "Zappa" .....
