Who could resist such "Party Police"? My personal favorite would be "Next of Kin" - the sad story told there may be the way the Irish folk background of the Rankin family hinted as the fact that the good Molly originally tried it solo as a singer-songwriter. Then there is the stylistically something falling out of the ordinary "Red Planet" at the very end with pluckerndem drum machines and synthesizers with guitars instead, in which I wonder whether the text was probably inspired by the Mars rover Spirit. "Archie, Marry Me" is also very good, and behind the summery jangle pop of "Atop a Cake" naturally hide textual doubt.
After the selection of so * right * strong albums of this year was more manageable, this is currently at me at the top of my list. (Places 2 and 3 are then a little more exotic.) I do but missing even a few ...
